What is the Heads First Collar?
It is a headrest providing support at the front of the head.
Who can use it?
It can be used both by disabled people and able-bodied people. It is useful for disabled people who have neurological conditions, especially MND; head and spinal cord injury; whiplash; and cerebral palsy. For able-bodied people it can make long-haul flights more pleasant by making it easier to sleep (you may choose to use a neck pillow as well).
Why is this the best product on the market?
Due to its extra padding, it provides much more comfortable support than the competition with machine-washable covers. Also, all of our collars are latex-free.
How easy is it to fit?
It is very easy to fit and this can be done without any third party assistance. However, if you are using this product due to a disability, a professional's advice and guidance is recommended.
How is it cleaned?
The frame can be wiped clean, the chin and neck strap are washable and of course spare chin pads are available at a reasonable cost.
What sizes does it come in?
There are currently 4 sizes although smaller ones will be available in the future.
How do I know what the right size is?
Please see the Ordering information page.
How much does it cost?
£62 plus VAT. Please note that if you are VAT exempt let us know and we will not add this.
Are there discounts for large orders?
Yes. There is a 5% discount for orders of 5 or more collars, and a 10% discount for orders of 10 or more collars.
How much is postage and packaging?
£7.50 in the UK. Please contact us if you are ordering from another country.
How do I go about ordering?
Please see the Purchase page.
Are replacement parts available?
Yes, see the ordering page. But please note that these are not always necessary.
What colours does it come in?
It currently comes in 2 colours: grey and black.
Are there any additional parts to help provide even more support?
Yes. For additional support at the lateral sides and posterior side, accessories are available. There is also an accessory for the front side in cases where extra support is needed, but in the vast majority of cases this is not needed as the Collar provides reliable support on its own.
